Description:

Gilia tenuiflora ssp. hoffmannii is 6-12 cm in length and has a multi-branched stem which emerges from a basal rosette of leaves, each leaf divided into long, straight leaflets. The flower, which blooms from April through June, is lavender with a long stigma protruding from its white throat.

Habitat:

Gilia tenuiflora ssp. hoffmannii  can be found in coastal dune, bluff and sage scrub communities.

Distribution:

Gilia tenuiflora ssp. hoffmannii is known from only three occurrences at East Pt., Skunk Pt., and near Carrington Pt. on Santa Rosa Island, California.  [CNPS]
