Description:

Castilleja mollis is a hemiparasitic perennial herb that is native to the Channel Islands of California. The plant is 12-18 inches long with yellow-green flowers that bloom from April through August.

Based on an September 2020 extract of the California Plant Rescue Database, Santa Barbara Botanic Garden holds 21 accessions of Castilleja mollis in orthodox seed collection. There are as many as 16149 seeds of this species in their collection - although some may have been used for curation testing or sent to back up.
