Description:

Tiburon Mariposa Lily is known from one single population located within Ring Mountain Preserve on the Tiburon Peninsula in Marin County, California. This California endemic lily boasts a striking flower with hairy petals colored light yellow with flecks of dark purple and brown. Surviving just in one location, Calochortus tiburonensis is threatened primarily by non-native plant species and recreational activities.
