This mint family member is found in the wet montane forest habitats of east Maui. Little is known about these species currently.

P. pilosa is found in hardwood and woodland forest habitats.

Distribution:

The last observance accounted for only seven native individuals, growing specifically west of the cinder cone volcano, Puu o Kakae, on Maui in 2007.
