In 2011, Red Butte Garden staff made a wild seed collection representing nearly 2,400 seeds from 63 individuals of Penstemon idahoensis. These seeds are held in long term storage at Red Butte Garden. In addition to this seed collection, 3 individuals are held as living specimens at Red Butte Garden.
