Description:

C. kaulantha, a member of the African violet family, is described as a shrub sparsely covered in brown hairs that produced white flowers.

Where is Ha`iwale (Cyrtandra kaulantha) located in the wild?

Habitat:

Typically, this species is found at the bottom of gulches and deep in the mesic forests at elevations of 240 to 320 meters.

Distribution:

This endemic shrub's native range spans across the Ko`olau Mountains and Wai`ahole Ditch Trail on O`ahu.
