Description:

Eatons Bur-marigold, is an annual member of the Sunflower Family with small flowering heads that look daisies. It can be distinguished from similar species because it has simple, not compound, leaves, the stalks of the leaves are winged, and its flowering heads only have 7-30 flowers. Eatons Bur-marigold is only found growing in tidal areas, in either marshes or flats in and in either salt or freshwater. (Maine Natural Areas Program, 2013; New England Wildflower Society, 2017). As of 2016, Eatons Bur-marigold was listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN because of its very restricted range (Northeastern America) and the many threats to it persistence, such as habitat degradation, human development and pollution.
