Distribution:

Lotus haydonii occurs in the deserts of southern California and Baja California, Mexico. The greatest threats to this species are related to its proximity to the USA-Mexico border where border patrolling activities, roads, and infrastructure, as well as foot traffic by illegal immigrants. Invasive species are also found at multiple sites and might outcompete this species. There are between 30 and 40 known occurrences.
