On 26 November 2022, National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG) staff collected aweoweo (Chenopodium oahuense) seeds from Kanaha, Maui, HI, US for the CPC IMLS RIN project. The single plant was medium sized and growing under the canopy of Leucaena sp. and Prosopis sp. A portion of the seeds will be conserved on site in the NTBG Seed bank and Lab. The companion historic accession was collected from the same area in 1998. Pictured below are images of Chenopodium oahuense (as opposed to C. foggii as the tag suggests) flowers collected during the collection trip contributed by Mike Opgenorth.
