    Hi there!

I was wondering if there was any general guidance on how to conduct rare plant rescues. Unfortunately, we have a coastal brackish meadow habitat that is going to be developed. This habitat is home to several locally-sensitive species such as Lilium superbum, Cirsium horridulum (biennial), Maianthemum stellatum, Iris prismatica and many more. I was wondering if there is any guidance on how to properly extract bulbs/roots/rhizomes from these plants in the wild. Seed collection for some of these species would not work because they do no flower as a result of chronic deer herbivory. I have been looking for species-specific propagation protocols to see if they can shed any light on how to collect these plant propagules but I was wondering if there are any general guidelines that you know of that I should follow.

    Thank you so much!
