    Job Opportunity: Seed Laboratory Technician – 2 positions through Kupu/AmeriCorps. See attached flyer for additional information.

    One position will focus primarily on pollen conservation research, while being heavily involved in daily seed bank operations. Specifically, the successful candidate will work with a team to collect pollen of native Hawaiian species and conduct research into optimal germination media, desiccation tolerance, and longevity. Results will help support best practices and facilitate pollen storage as a more widely employed conservation tool.

    The other position will focus on daily seed bank operations and be heavily involved in pollen conservation research. Specifically, the successful candidate will work with a team to process incoming seed collections, perform germination assays, and conduct research seed longevity, storage behavior, and germination ecology and dormancy.
