What the standards that are typically used? Are there good reference for this type of data storage? What status are typically monitoring (groudn, extracted, sequence)?
Check out these registered extensions for the Darwin Core. Using these will allow for publication on GBIF and GGBN

The GGBN extensions and DarwinCore MaterialSample are likely the most relevant. Feel free to reach out if you have any queations.
