The Center for Plant Conservation (CPC) is pleased to announce that we are hiring a Communications Coordinator to facilitate education and outreach about rare plant conservation.
CPC is network of world class botanical institutions based at the San Diego Zoo Institution for Conservation Research in Escondido, CA. CPC safeguards rare plants by advancing science-based conservation practices, connecting and empowering plant conservationists, and inspiring all to protect biodiversity for future generations.
The duties would be diverse including:
– Interfacing with Plant Experts, Videographers, & Education Evaluators in coordination of the CPC Online Applied Plant Conservation Course
– Coordinating the development of short instructional videos to be featured on our new learning platform CPC Rare Plant Academy
– Enhancing CPC’s social media participation on Facebook and Twitter and other social media outlets, including ensuring all content is regularly updated
– Assist in creation, production, and dissemination of printed publications for education, development, and administration purposes
While the job posting lists preferred experience/education in a communications field, those with science degrees, but a demonstrated passion in communications through blogs, videos, and social media would be welcome to apply.
