About I'm the Senior Rare Plant Conservation Scientist at Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. Our rare plant conservation team conducts applied research and conservation actions focused on conserving California's rare plants both in and ex situ. Our work is highly collaborative, involving local, state and federal partners. We manage a conservation seed bank focused on California's rare plants, with special emphasis on the Channel Islands. My team's work spans a broad geographic area, including California's Central Coast, Channel Islands, Central Valley, and Sierra Nevada. I also engage in education and outreach to help spread the word about the importance of saving rare plants.
