This species inhabits a limited number of sites, but is moderately abundant where found. The Florida Natural Areas Inventory's database currently has 29 occurrence records from Polk, Highlands, Collier, Marion, Orange, Citrus, Putnam, Clay, and Lee counties, Florida. Conversion of prime habitat to residential developments and agriculture has had a negative impact on this species.
