A Nevada endemic, narrowly confined to a single spring-fed desert wetland area with extremely saline soils. Only nine occurrences are known, and the habitat is very threatened by development. Agricultural development and the associated large-scale draw-down of the region's water resources have already destroyed large portions of the local native flora.
