According to a March 2023 extract of the Florida Plant Rescue Database, Bok Tower Gardens holds 1 accessions of Glandularia tampensis totalling approximately 935 seeds.

A Florida endemic that was formerly wide-ranging, but currently Florida Natural Areas Inventory's database contains only 24 occurrence records. These are from Brevard and Volusia counties on the east coast of Florida and Levy, Citrus, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Collier, Pasco, and Pinellas counties on west coast. The species' habitat is under tremendous pressure from development.
