A newly described species in 2006, Claytonia ozarkensis is known from nine locations in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. It occurs on moist sandstone bluffs and wooded hilltops, at moist microsites near springs or seeps on limestone (Miller and Chambers 2006).
