Endemic to central Florida scrub. Loss of scrub habitat to residential, commercial, and agricultural development have greatly reduced this species'abundance, although it may be locally abundant in some scrub sites. The Florida Natural Areas Inventory currently contains 121 occurrence records from the Central Ridge counties, Florida.
