According to a March 2023 extract of the Florida Plant Rescue Database, Bok Tower Gardens holds 25 accessions of Vicia ocalensis totalling approximately 4852 seeds.

There are only four known populations of this species, but it is fairly stable within its very small range. Potential threats include alterations in hydrology and invasive exotic plants.
