Monitoring Texas Hexalectris warnockii (Photo 2 of 2)

When a local group asks for your help with 20 years of rare species data, how can you say no? It has been an absolute privilege for our team here at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden to join forces with such a passionate and dedicated group of local citizen scientists to archive and steward decades of meticulously recorded population monitoring data for this absolutely stunning group of mycoheterotrophic orchids all in the name of rare Texas native plant conservation. Together, we will continue to survey and monitor this local population and try to unravel some of the many lingering mysteries surrounding these bewitching orchids and their conservation here in Texas.
