Responsibilities:
Duties are listed at the full performance level GS-12:
Make on-the-ground investigations related to long-term survival of rare plants and the effects of activities in complex ecological and botanical conditions
Develop species-specific management direction for long-term survival of threatened, endangered, and sensitive (TES) plant species.
Represent the Unit at meetings with technical and scientific groups where environmental management problems are discussed.
Develop and implement a monitoring program for Threatened, Endangered, Proposed, Candidate, and Sensitive (TEPCS) plant species and rare communities.
Evaluate the needs of resource management programs for botanical and plant ecology information.
Assess biological evaluations to ensure technical and administrative compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Evaluate land management projects for compliance with the Endangered Species Act.
Write reports, evaluations, and biological opinions of investigations involving critical projects with potential for adverse impacts on natural resources.
