The Center for Plant Conservation (CPC) seeks an Interim CEO to oversee relations with the CPC Board of Trustees, to shepherd the CPC mission and vision, and oversee National Office operations. The Center for Plant Conservation is a one-of-a-kind national plant conservation network of more than 70 botanical institutions and individuals working to save imperiled plants of the United States, its territories, and Canada. The CPC network maintains the CPC National Collection of Endangered Plants, a living conservation collection of over 2,000 imperiled plants. CPC partners collect and manage living seeds and plants, work with land managers to remove threats, and investigate the important aspects of rare plant biology pertinent to saving these species. At the CPC National Office, we expand the capacity for plant conservation by communicating the best and most up-to-date scientific practices to Save Plants, maintaining records of plants that have or need protection, and coordinating vital initiatives for securing plants in conservation collections. Working together, drawing from the collective expertise and experience of our scientists, the CPC network saves more plant species together than would ever be possible alone. The Interim CEO will provide management and leadership for this vital organization. This part-time seasonal position reports to the CPC Board of Directors. Salary is commensurate with experience. There are no benefits associated with this position. Travel expenses related to CPC required events will be reimbursed.
