Responsibilities:
NPS will be filling two positions: one working on habitat stewardship focused in Muir Woods and the Redwood Creek Watershed and a second position focused on stewardship of coastal grasslands that support endangered butterflies. Both positions will focus on habitat stewardship and ecological restoration projects. Work will include invasive plant management and habitat enhancement work including seed collection, direct seeding, and out-planting. Work will involve inventory and monitoring of plants, some wildlife, other natural resources, and the environment. Position will lead interns, volunteers, and others to implement projects. These positions will collect and manage scientific data, map various resource features, analyze data, and write reports. Both positions will spend considerable time in the field, but also have some time in the office (estimate 70% field time and 30% office).
