BOTANIST JOB OPENING
ARKANSAS NATURAL HERITAGE COMMISSION
We are pleased to announce an open botanist position (full-time with benefits) at the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission (ANHC). The ANHC is a state agency within the Division of Arkansas Heritage, which is within the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism. The ANHC houses both the state Natural Heritage Program and the state’s System of Natural Areas (a system of 77 public nature preserves protecting more than 72,000 acres of high quality and/or rare natural communities). It also houses the ANHC Herbarium, the state’s most actively growing herbarium, and the only major collection not housed within an academic institution.
This position is based in Little Rock but will work statewide, with extensive field work in rare, high-quality, and otherwise interesting natural communities.
